THE MODERN JAPANESE HOUSE

Picked up The Japanese House: Architecture and Interiors a few years ago and found it an excellent source for visuals of the sparest of Japanese houses and furnishings. Very little text leaves plenty of time to immerse in masterful photography. A favorite of mine. But here's a new release, bigger and better.

Just found this, a new Japanese house book: The Modern Japanese House, yesterday, so made a trip to the local Borders and very much liked what I saw. There are five chapters; Tiny Houses, Inside/ Outside, Multi Generation Houses, Work/Play, and Vacation Houses. Architects featured include Kazuyo Sejima, Jun Aoki, Shigeru Ban, Hitoshi Abe, Shuhei Endo, Nobuaki Furuya and Hiroshii Nakao. Hardcover, 240 pages, 220 color images. Beautiful and spare.
