EARLY BIRD MIGRATION UNDERWAY

Living in New Mexico so near the Rio Grande Flyway brings a
influx of avian visitors each Spring and Fall.

More Evening Grosbeaks around the bird feeders here in Santa Fe. The Macaulay Library is a great resource for Birds of the USA, dividing the USA into two groups, the Eastern and Western USA. What is exceptional with this site is along with the general information, photos etc, the songs and sounds of the various birds are available for either simple listening, or downloading transferring to an ipod, and carrying into the field.

And if you are at the office during the day and feel the need for some bird action, travel over to the Smithsonian National Zoological Park and click on to their Bird Cam placed at a wild bird feeder on the grounds. Also discover the relationship between migratory birds and shade grown coffee.

Don't forget the kids. Audubon has a great kids site for interaction with the critters right out the front door.

And more for the kids for weekend projects of building bird feeders from common household objects at The Kids Corner, and at Bird Central. And finally, have a giggle with Einstein the talking Grey Parrot.
